Saint Tropez exists since the regency of Nero in Rome, and got mainly used
as a little harbor with not very much importance. This went on through the
centuries basically until today. The first real starting point came in the 1920s,
where Saint-Tropez attracted international stars from the world of fashion.
After the 1950s - with partly thanks to Brigitte Bardot - the city received
international recognition and worldwide exposure through such films as
Et Dieu ... crea' la femme.

In the 1960s and 1970s Saint
Tropez became world known
with a set of comedy movies,
starring Louis de Funes as the
Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez
and got further notoriety.

Since then is Saint-Tropez

located on the French Riviera
