Moscow In Russia- A Faraway, Very Special Place
Moscow, the always-capital of Russia, seems for our reality so faraway, that it is
hard thinking about it. You really have to think far! And there is more to it. It is the
largest city in Europe and ranks among the largest urban areas in the world. As
the seventh largest city it already perfectly matches with the expression "Mega
City". There live about 13 million citizens and it continues growing every day.
The next statement is nearly unbelievable. Long time ago Moscow became the
needed economy enter of Russia, this is why there lives today the biggest
amount of billionaires of the entire world. Though the population is still
somehow poor.
Since the 1990's they try to
catch up a bit but are not
even close to, where we are
right now with our own salaries.
Though this can be very hand-
some for the Tourist knowing it.
Buy something on a normal
Russian market place (not or-
ganized for tourists), and you
will still get many good products
for a fraction of their original
price. You could make the
best deals since a long time.
Just ask somebody on the
street for a good insider
market place.
With it's large size Moscow couldn't handle all the traffic in the streets,
if they wouldn't have invented their own system. Surrounding the Kremlin
go several concentric circles, which are dividing the city into smaller rings
connected with long and straight streets, going up to the Kremlin. It sounds
simple but must have a gigantic look. In that way it seems to be very easy,
getting from one location to the other, and not go crazy in an un-drive-able
street jungle.
The Hotels of Moscow and all the glittery work done for all the tourists,
has an incredible standard of profession. Don't think, you would live poor.
But you also pay the normal price. Russians like to cook and go shopping.
You can find very interesting "unexplored" merchandise, what got mainly
produced locally or in several Scandinavian countries.
The real reason for visiting Moscow, is its famous history. The first
mentioning in historical documents is from 1147 AD. Since then it grew
and became the center for economics, politics and other. It survived
through several wars, got at least 3 times destroyed and it was some-
times very hard, to keep it going. But it also became the national religious
capital, where you can find so many admirable buildings,
filled with extra ordinary historical art and you are
wondering, who were the artists, creating all that.
It is close to a miracle, including considering the
Kremlin, that all the money of the past must have
gone to all these creative projects. No wonder why
the rest of the population got always kept poor.
Experiencing Moscow and the Russian personality
is it worth, coming by for a visit. And if you cannot
stand the very cold temperatures during the winter
time, then plan visiting in summer.
