There is no other city alike, which saw so many
different world known famous artists in the past,
helping to build and decorate it all. Nowhere else are
so many gorgeous buildings with paintings and arts,
as it is here. A list of masters, who major contributed:

                                                             and Benvenuto Cellini (1500 - 1571).

All of them are very world known specialists in arts
as poets, sculptors, historians, explorers, politicians
or goldsmiths. Even Marco Polo came several times
to visit Florence. Statistics produced by the UNESCO
say, that 60 % of the world's most important works
of ancient arts are located in Italy and approximately
half of them you can find here in Florence.

In the time span of the 1300 till 1600 century was Florence’s genius greatest epoch,
a seemingly endless adding source of creative masterpieces. Dante and Michelangelo
were born in Florence. Europe's richest cultural time, the Italian Renaissance
began here, when Brunelleschi finished building
the Duomo with the huge Dome. During this time
and after, all the renaissance palaces & squares
got turned into living museums like Piazza della
Signoria, with its famous statues and fountains.
Inside of chapels, galleries and museums is an
uncomparable amount of treasure to find about
this time period, much more than anywhere else
in this country. Go and visit the Uffizi Museum,
with works of Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Mi-
chelangelo, Titan and Rubens. There are other
art museums like Pitti Palace, Galleria dell' Ac-
cademia and Palazzo Vecchio. In Florence one
can also find some of the biggest churches of
Italy, including the famous Duomo of Florence,
San Lorenzo, Santa Maria Novella and Santa
Croce.

Many of the international travelers to Italy come
also to Florence. It is very normal for every edu-
cated person to become interested in arts, and
to not leave the country without having seen all
these attractions and master pieces. This is why
the city has an “Active Center Of Art And Culture”
which organizes periodically exhibitions and Art
festivals. During  the summer you will find on
many streets and squares live music, outdoor cinema, dance and theater. There is
entertainment every night with refreshments and spectacular views of the surroun-
ding buildings. To other times during the year you can enjoy theaters, ballets,
operas and special guest or host exhibitions, concerts and shows.

But next to the tourism there get still more things produced in Florence with indus-
tries like textile, metalwork, pharmaceuticals, glass and ceramics and chemistry and
never the less with jewelry and beautiful embroidery. For gold-work is Florence since
centuries a famous place.
The same is with assort-
ments of leather goods
and shoes as well. And the
list goes on even longer,
with handmade perfumes
and toiletries, decorative
ceramic and sculpture
work.

To show and proof every-
thing to the visitor and for
all the enjoyment, there is
the ‘Festival of Creativity.”
It happens every year in
October on Fortezza de
Basso and gets thousands
of visitors, who are com-
pletely excited and blown
away because of the pavilions of creativity. You will find several different types of
creations from fashion design, music, art, technology, poetry and the virtual world.
You will explore lots of imagination and fantasy, which bring new
trends and also help improving ones reality.
